Coco Potting Compost has higher fiber content for lightness and also for efficient water distribution. This is especially important for hanging baskets and smaller pots as they tend to dry out faster. The lignin in the fiber ensuresthe water nutrients flow from fiber to fiber, watering the entire substrate without leaving dry spots. When watering there is enevitably some run-off, but with Coco Potting Compost this is reduced to a minimum as small coco chips absorb the excess water and expand to act as a reservoir for the roots to draw on as they need it.
